According to the new EU rules, mandatory prior electronic declaration of all cargo through the ICS2 (Import Control System 2) system will come into effect in 2025.
Main requirements:
- The cargo declaration is submitted BEFORE the actual import
- An accurate description of the goods is required (HS codes, weight, origin)
- Digital control and verification of cargo is being introduced
- All cargo must be accompanied by a full package of documents
